Hotjar is a website behaviour analytics and user feedback tool, now part of Contentsquare. It shows how visitors actually use your site through heatmaps of clicks, taps and scrolling, and session recordings that replay real visits so you can see where people get confused or drop off.

Hotjar also collects direct feedback with on-site surveys and feedback widgets, and helps you recruit and interview users. AI features can write survey questions for you, summarise survey responses and highlight key insights from recordings. Product managers, designers and marketers use Hotjar to find usability problems and improve conversion.

Good fit if you: want to see why visitors behave the way they do on your website, not just how many there are.
Less ideal if you: need detailed product analytics with event funnels per user; tools like Mixpanel or Amplitude go deeper there.
