About us

A directory you can actually trust

We list 556 AI tools across 12 categories. Here is exactly how we score them, how we make money, and why paying never buys a better rank.

How we rank tools

Every tool has one public score from 1 to 5. It is built from two things:

  1. The editor score. When a person on our team reviews a tool, they give it a score based on what it does, how well it does it, and how fair its pricing is.
  2. Visitor votes. Anyone can rate a tool on its page — one vote per visitor.

The editor score counts like five votes. A brand-new tool with no votes shows our editor score; a tool with 50 votes shows mostly what visitors think. That way one angry (or over-excited) vote can't swing a score from 4.8 to 1.0.

Next to every score we show where it comes from: “Editor score” or the number of visitor ratings. Visitors have cast 12 ratings so far.

Lists such as Top Rated, Free Tools and every category are sorted by that score — never by who paid.

How we make money

Running the directory costs money, so some placements are paid. The rule is simple: money buys visibility in labelled spots — never a score, a rank, or a review.

Every paid or affiliate link is marked rel="sponsored", as Google requires. We don't sell followed backlinks.

How tools get listed

Tool pages that still have only a one-line description are hidden from Google until we have written a proper review. They stay visible on the site.
