About Softr
Softr turns spreadsheets and databases into real web apps — client portals, internal tools, directories, membership sites — without code. Connect Airtable, Google Sheets or other sources, assemble pages from pre-built blocks (lists, forms, charts, user accounts, payments), set permissions, and publish.
Its sweet spot is speed-to-useful: a client portal showing each customer only their records, an internal tool where staff update inventory, a gated community with paid membership — each achievable in an afternoon using blocks that already handle authentication, filtering and responsive layout. AI assists with app generation from a description, and integrations (Stripe, Zapier, etc.) extend functionality.
A free tier covers small experiments; paid tiers scale users, records and custom domains.
Strengths: the gentlest learning curve in no-code app building, excellent permission/visibility controls for portals, and blocks that make common patterns nearly assembly-free. Weaknesses: block-based means bounded — pixel-level design control and complex custom logic hit ceilings faster than Bubble-class builders; and app performance depends on your data source's limits (Airtable quotas apply).
Who it's for: agencies and operations teams shipping client portals and internal tools, founders validating SaaS ideas, and anyone whose "app" is really a smart interface over a spreadsheet.
