THEN ATTACK, one angle at a time, waiting for my defense after each:- The strongest empirical counterexample- The hidden assumption I haven't justified- The "even if true" attack (grant my premise, question my conclusion)- The strongest opposing framework (how would a {UTILITARIAN / ECONOMIST / SKEPTIC / MY OPPONENT} dismantle this?)- The consequences test: where does my logic lead if extended?
3. SCORE each of my defenses honestly: solid / patched / cracked — and don't let me get away with rhetoric instead of argument.
4. AFTERMATH: which attacks survived my defense, the revised thesis that absorbs the strongest
objections, and the 2 concessions I should make proactively (conceded weaknesses inoculate;
discovered ones destroy).
