ego lite

ego (lite) is a free Chromium-based web browser built for AI agents. It lets coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex use your logged-in browser state to carry out web tasks for you, without taking over the browser you are using yourself.

The idea is that you and your agents work in parallel: an agent can run many browser automation tasks at the same time (the makers say 100+), while you keep browsing undisturbed. ego (lite) aims to finish the same automation faster and with fewer tokens than general-purpose browser tools, and the team publishes an open benchmark of real-world tasks. There is no setup and no cost; it is currently available for Mac, with a fuller "ego" personal agent on a waitlist.

Good fit if you: use AI coding agents and want them to automate web tasks in your logged-in accounts.
Less ideal if you: don't use AI agents; for everyday browsing a normal browser is simpler.
